Allow us to set a scene for you. It’s the perfect April day at the gorgeous Sea Pines Resort where their motto is “Bask in the lush splendor of the South Carolina lowcountry.” As if the mild April air wasn’t inviting enough – soft white flowers and tall burning candles welcome you into the most dreamy wedding tent. Amanda Spencer of Spencer Special Events has done it again, she’s curated a wedding that could bring any bride to tears.

We can’t help but adore the stunning tent and drapery created by one of our favorite rental companies, Ranco Tent rentals. They truly have so much to offer for a myriad of different events. 13

The Knisely & Delay wedding was another couture monogram client where we were honored to play a part in their most special day ever. They’re a fabulous example of a couple who brought their personal favorite things to the forefront of their wedding, and allowed us to put the polish on top of those small details with specially printed items.

Starting with their beautiful programs adorned with their brand new custom monogram designed by Emily herself. We are completely obsessed with the notion of having your own monogram to begin your new life as a married couple. It’s the perfect day to unveil it for everyone else, don’t you agree?

Look closely and you’ll see these sweet macaroons are adorned by the couture monogram. A little take-home gift that will keep your guests remembering the sweetest night ever! We were able to provide the boxes and the custom monogrammed sticker that adorns it.

One truly incredible, and personal touch, was a cigar roller from Cigar Row. These gold cigars were wrapped in a small version of the couples new monogram. Truly a stunning detail that even the manliest of men could enjoy! We love the way the “Cigar Bar” sign turned out that we were able to provide.

The “Cheers” sign above the bar was also an Emily McCarthy studio creation that looked just incredible placed over the bar area.

We love to share this so that you can see what Emily McCarthy can create for you and your future events. From weddings to any other celebration you have up your sleeve – if you can dream it up, we can get it printed and created. There is nothing pedestrian about the gorgeous artwork Emily can custom make for you.

One of the first ways the Emily McCarthy Studio began making it’s mark on the world was by creating gorgeous, intricate wedding paper suites for brides of all kinds. To this day, weddings are a huge part of our  creative work here at the studio. What you may not realize is that wedding paper goes far beyond a traditional invitation and response card. The way we are able to work with fabulous brides, of course, is through our phenomenal network of wedding planners. On this particular wedding we got to work with the best of the best, one of our great friends here – Ashley Rhodes of Ashley Rhodes Event Designs. Her events surpass expectations and go right into the record books every single time.

That’s why we’re so honored to show you one of the weddings we recently outfitted with invitations and day of accessories. You’ll see that there’s no limit to how custom your day can be. Let’s take a look at this dreamy Charleston affair – the Alvarez & Cash wedding.

We were seeing life through rose colored glasses as we took into account everything from the church, the reception site, and all of the little things that bride, Ana, was conveying. Emily made it her goal to bring all of these small details to life on paper.

CashWedding-49 CashWedding-47 CashWedding-45

This musical couple wanted something that stayed true to the elegant and romantic scene they wanted to create, but also nodded to their deep roots.

CashWedding-54

The wedding program stayed crisp and beautiful with gold flourishes and a couture monogram created specifically for the couple.

Small touches like these photos created a tie that binds – family. Everywhere you looked, you were surrounded by those that joined them on this path to finding love – both past, and present. The small labels next to them identified just who each person was.

The menus were created in the same style so that everything truly felt connected throughout the whole experience.

You could even find Emily McCarthy touches on the food trays! Not only did these fabulous lucite trays present exactly what each server was offering, they continued the theme of the wedding paper suite.

The couture monogram gave this wedding cake a special life of its own. Simple elegance was really shown throughout this entire day.

CashWedding-565

The couture monogram didn’t end with just cocktail napkins and the cake – the bride even had these beautiful custom pillows commissioned to keep everything ultra personal.

What’s a party without a signature cocktail? This couple opted for something very personal to them, and we created a unique napkin to showcase the recipe.

One final touch were the take-aways. Something to remind each guest that love is truly sweet, indeed. These small tags stayed true to the entire concept bringing the event full circle. From start to finish, there was a continuity that shone through and made it clear that every detail was truly cared for.

Thank you, Ana and John, for letting us take your vision and translate it through our design. It was such an honor working with you!

Ask any bride and she’ll agree – she can’t thank her bridesmaids enough for lending support during the most exciting time in her life! Hosting a bridesmaids luncheon is the perfect way to introduce bridesmaids who come from different cities and different friend groups, it’s also a beautiful way to express your gratitude!

IMG_7109

When we were asked to style a bridesmaid luncheon, there was nothing but excitement at the Emily McCarthy Shoppe. Weddings give us life around here, from paper products to custom monogramming and our brand new Registry Programme – they’re practically the tie that binds!

We drew our inspiration from something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. What we loved about this – is that all of these things could be represented in the classic ginger jar. They come in so many shapes and sizes, a centerpiece was born.

IMG_7473

Once the centerpieces made their places at the table, filling them with vibrant flowers was the easy touch that could take them from ornamental to truly sensational. As we continued the theme of bright pink to mix with the white and blue, we loved the variety that John Davis Florist selected. Instead of sticking with one type of flower for each ginger jar, we were blown away at the impact that the different types truly made as far as the statement went.

Pink, white, and blue on a lush green backdrop. Vibrant, yet not busy. Special, yet completely achievable. Our exclusive Capri Tile print makes its debut here and really steals the show! From the invitations, dinner napkins, and large pillows – this gorgeous print is bold and simple all at once. IMG_7141

At EMMA J DESIGN, we have been busy bees gearing up for Wedding Season! We just LOVE how Jessica and Jack’s custom wedding paper turned out for their October nuptials.

Bride Jessica is known for her fashion sense and true Southern traditions. We envisioned Garden and Gun meets New York Fashion Week. Jessica and Jack’s wedding was anything but standard and included details such as their Couture Monogram embroidered on linens, gold foil coasters and napkins. For the invitation wardrobe, we pressed their Couture Monogram into a luxurious double weight Crane paper and letterpressed hand lettered calligraphy by Bride Whelan in a taupe ink. The edges were gilded with gold foil and were divine!

    Hi Emma!

The lavender wedding programs are absolutely beautiful. What a great idea to include lavender on the program itself. xx

What a beautiful day this turned out to be! Or should I say, beautiful 3-day event celebrating the marriage of Deanna and Joe. The fabulous event was designed and coordinated by Sebrell Smith Designer Events and photographed by the talented Chia and Hon along with Bryan Stovall. You can also view the video from Savannah Wedding Films here. Here are a few shots from the wedding day and reception. The beautiful calligraphy was hand lettered by Bride Whelan. More details to come for the pre-wedding oyster roast and rehearsal dinner.

You may remember the beautiful magnolia inspired letterpress invitations of Jenn and Michael.
I had the pleasure of working with Alysse Sweeney with MGE who did an amazing job on Jenn and Michael’s wedding at The Ford Plantation. We also had the help of The Monogram Place who did the stunning embroidery on the linens featured. All of the paper products compliments of yours truly at emma j design.  Beautiful photography by Mackensey Alexander.

Loving how my long-time friend, Kelley’s, wedding turned out in Rome, Georgia! Kelley and Kevin wanted a vintage country chic wedding and I do believe they pulled it off with flying shades of pink, turquoise and purple! What a pleasure to be a part of their special day and Pam Jones from Paris Mountain Photography did an amazing job with the photos. Check out some of the custom details from emma j design. The bride did a lot of DYI decor and it was all stunning and colorful in person.
